Lake Henderson

Walk to Lake Henderson approx. .25 mi. round trip from parking lot

Henderson Lake - was named in 1826 after David Henderson, one of the founders of the Elba Iron Works near Lake Placid New York, and of the Upper Works at Tahawus New York.  This beautiful lake is now available for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Also access to Preston Ponds and Duck Hole.

Henderson Lake located in the High Peaks Wilderness area of Adirondack Park in New York is surprisingly, delightfully wild, considering the easy access!

Hidden in plain sight near a very popular Adirondack High Peaks hiking trail head, we have been alone on Henderson Lake often. It is a definite family favorite hiking, paddling and camping spot we will make time for every year.

Boasting beautiful swimming coves (with BIG rocks to cannonball from!) and a fun marsh maze to follow, Henderson Lake in the Adirondacks is a fun, engaging paddle for those with little ones.
